Monkey Bread…I love you so…
I know, you work full-time, you have kids, you have chores, errands, etc. That is why when my BFF Danielle showed me how to make this foolproof, quick and easy Monkey Bread, I was over the moon excited!! I honestly am annoyed I didn’t come up with it first but WHATEVER.
Danielle is an incredible mom, wife, friend and business lady (shameless plug to check out her Etsy account “Dual Arrow Designs”). So….juggling all of that, I know she knows some awesome shortcuts in the kitchen to feed all of the these hungry little mouths. She shared one with me a couple weekends ago when we stayed with her and her rad family in Draper, Utah. MONKEY BREAD. And it changed my life and now it will change yours.
Simply buy 3 cans of the prepared Cinnamon Roll Pilsbury Dough. All you need for the rest are 1/2 stick of unsalted butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Using a plastic baggie, place the white sugar and cinnamon mixture inside. Now add the cinnamon roll dough and give it a good shake (this was the twins favorite part. Well that and eating the sugar).
Grease a bundt pan and layer the sugar coated cinnamon rolls inside, layering like fallen dominoes. “fallen dominoes” was literally the only way I could describe that pattern so hopefully you got it.
Next, melt butter and mix in the brown sugar and combine until sugar is somewhat dissolved. It won’t dissolve all the way. Spoon the mixture on top of the cinnamon rolls coating as much as you can. Trust me, this stuff is so good. Super good for you too:/
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and enjoy all the yummy smells!!
Remove from oven and let slightly cool. Place a platter on top, flip the bundt pan over so platter is now on the bottom, tap on the bundt pan with a wooden spoon to help release the dough evenly. It should come right out in a nice little circle on your platter.
The best part about this Monkey Bread besides the smell, is that people can just come up and pull off a roll! No need to cut a slice, just grab and plop on your plate!
Monkey Bread is truly a crowd pleaser. Great for holidays, breakfasts for guests, brunch, dessert, or a breakfast on a Tuesday. There is always a good time for Monkey Bread! Especially when it takes no time to make!
