Berry Detox Smoothie
When I wake up in the morning, after the getting-ready-for-the-day routine, I ask myself what sounds good for breakfast. Being not much of a planner when it comes to weekday breakfasts, it is essential I have lots of products on hand.
Many mornings I am in the mood for a Berry Detox Smoothie. Not only because it is FULL of vitamins, plant-based protein and tons of essential minerals, but because it is super easy to make. Like many people, I am a big fan of anything that I can just throw in a blender and push start.
This Berry Detox Smoothie has 7 nutrient-dense ingredients:
Frozen organic berries
Unsweetened almond milk
What are the Benefits of berries, spinach, ginger and chia seeds?
Berries are loaded with antioxidants, help improve blood sugar levels, high in fiver, help fight inflammation, and are great for your skin!
Spinach contains several vitamins and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and vitamins B6 and E. Spinach is an extremely nutrient-rich vegetable and contains high amounts of vitamin C, folic acid, iron and calcium.
Ginger helps improve digestion, reduces nausea (which is great when you are hungover, not that I know), reduces muscle soreness (you know you went out and partied and danced all night the night before, you’re probably sore). Ginger is key!
Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron and calcium.
